Psychology of Yoga Asana - Forward/Backbends

How does our posture affect our mental state and vice versa? What is the relationship of asana, prana and our psychology?
 
How can postural limitations can be overcome through use of props and modifications in yoga asana? How can we use yoga asana to ‘evolve’ our mental state?
 
Join yoga master Flo Fenton to discover answers to these questions and more on a fun, experiential weekend of asana and pranayama.

Saturday 30 June

10am - 1pm
A flowing morning practice focusing on warming up for and correctly sequencing forward bends. Breathing techniques and meditation techniques will also be taught in this session.
 
1pm - 2:30pm
Lunch – Enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch in the blissful surrounds of the Pine Rivers Yoga garden, followed by a walk through the woods if desired.
 
2:30pm - 4:30pm
A power-point presentation will explain the relationship of our posture to our psyche, and how forward bends in particular affect us. Then we will explore use of props, modifications and breathing techniques in order to access the benefits of the forward bedning postures.

Sunday 1 July

9am - Noon

Noon - 1:30pm
Lunch – Enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch in the blissful surrounds of the Pine Rivers Yoga garden, followed by a walk through the woods if desired.
